Sustainable Fashion

Be the change you wish to see in the world, is something I have always lived by.
In this crazy world we live in, I think its so important to understand that the choices you make really make a difference.
Lately, I have also been focusing on trying my best to be aware of where I spend my money to align it with my ethical beliefs. Whether that be shopping local at the farmers market or buying clothes from brands which are conscious of the environment and the fast fashion industry. This little set that I love was ethically sourced and made out of bamboo from @laguna_collective . All sales are direct trade and go straight to the indigenous Mayan women of Mexico who used their talents to make this lovely outfit.
I think that knowing where your clothes come from, is just like knowing where your food comes from. We have the power to make big change when we make choices in our own lives.
If you choose to ignore it, well I am sure that the young girl in a foreign country who is getting paid $3 a day to make your clothes, might appreciate you changing what you buy.
If we cant stop it, at least don’t support it. Slow changes are big changes in the long run.
Heres some facts about fast fashion πŸ‘‡πŸΌ
πŸ’°Our money is what makes the fashion world go round, by buying more ethical clothing, we send market signals to change the system for good.
πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘§It disempowers women, it takes a garment worker 18 months to earn what a fashion brand CEO makes on their lunch break. 🐾Its bad for the planet, if its made fast, it usually breaks fast, which means it ends up in landfill for the most part.
Thank you to all the labels and brands out there who are conscious of where their clothes come from, or who are currently making the change to support fashion which lasts, and is kind.
